FREMONT — Police here raided a local condo after neighbors identified suspicious activity — that men were entering the small residence through all hours of the day and not staying long.
During the late July raid, police seized several phones and pay/owe ledgers, along with posters showing guests how to access wifi and remit payment, which seemed to confirm the residents’ suspicions that the home had been converted into a brothel, authorities said.
The raid targeted a condo on the 5600 block of Impatiens Commons. Before the raid, police conducted surveillance on the property and noticed several men entering the residence and leaving with coffee, authorities said.
They stopped one man, who reportedly confessed to paying $140 for sex and said he was given an entry code and learned about the suspected brothel through an online prostitution ad.
The suspected brothel was occupied by at least one person during the raid, but they have not yet been charged, according to court records.
