SAN JOSE — A motorcyclist died Saturday from injuries she suffered in a collision with a car two days earlier, police said. The crash happened just after 7:30 p.m.
Sept. 10 at the intersection of Saratoga and Latimer avenues, San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih said in a news release.
Shih said an investigation revealed the motorcyclist, a woman, was riding a white 2025 Kawasaki Ninja northbound on Saratoga Avenue when she was struck by a white 2021 Audi Q5 turning left onto Latimer Avenue from southbound Saratoga Avenue.
The woman was taken to a hospital with major injuries, Shih said, adding that she was stabilized but later died from her injuries. The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner will release her identity after it is confirmed and her next of kin are notified.
Shih said the driver, a woman, stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The incident marked the city’s 36th traffic fatality of 2026.
At this point last year, police had investigated 24 traffic fatalities on city streets. Anyone with information related to the case can contact Detective Marianne Banzon at [email protected] or 408-277-4654.
